BRIDGEND MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE
A man named Ricky Jeremy from West House Road, Bryntirion, Bridgend, was sentenced to 14 years in jail for a violent and sexual assault.He attacked a woman at a bus station in the early hours of Friday, September 8.
The assault included Jeremy punching the woman repeatedly in the face, sexually assaulting her, and ultimately raping her.
Despite the victim having no recollection of the event, CCTV footage and forensic evidence linked Jeremy to the crime.
Following the incident, Jeremy was arrested near the scene in Bridgend and later pleaded guilty to one count of rape, two counts of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of actual bodily harm.
The case was heard at Cardiff Crown Court on a Tuesday, and the sentence reflects the severity of the assault as described: 'This was a shocking assault on a defenceless woman witnessed by CCTV operators and captured on their cameras.'
