RICHARD YABSLY FROM TIVERTON ADMITS TO DECADES-OLD SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON FOUR GIRLS

A man residing in Tiverton has come forward to admit to historic sexual offenses committed against four young girls, with incidents dating back to the early to mid-1990s.

Richard Yabsley, aged 36, appeared in court where he pleaded guilty to a total of seven charges, which included acts of indecency and indecent assault involving the four victims.

These offenses took place over a span of three years, from 1994 through 1997, and have now been formally acknowledged by the defendant.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Yabsley has maintained a seemingly normal and honest life over the past fifteen years.

He has been living with his wife and children, leading what appeared to be a stable family life despite the serious allegations and his admission of guilt.

The court was informed of his current circumstances, which contrast sharply with the nature of his past offenses.

Judge Graham Cottle, presiding over the case, ordered that Yabsley be immediately registered on the sex offenders register, a legal requirement for individuals convicted of such crimes.

The judge also decided to adjourn the case to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report, which will help determine the appropriate sentencing.
