RICHARD HOUNSLOW CAUGHT WITH INDECENT IMAGES IN MONMOUTH - AVOID PRISON

In a case that has drawn significant attention in Monmouth, Richard Hounslow, a 33-year-old resident of Castle Close, faced the courts after being found in possession of indecent images of children. The incident, which took place in November 2016, led to Hounslow appearing before Cardiff Crown Court on Monday, November 7th, where he was formally charged with two counts of possessing such illicit material.

During the proceedings, it was revealed that Hounslow was in possession of a total of 40 images, with 37 classified as Category A, indicating the most severe and disturbing type of indecent images, and an additional three images categorized as Category B. The severity of the images found in his possession underscored the gravity of the charges against him.

Despite the serious nature of the offences, Judge Harris-Jenkins opted against imposing a prison sentence. Instead, Hounslow was handed a three-year community order, which requires him to adhere to specific conditions set by the court. Additionally, he was sentenced to complete 100 hours of community service, a measure aimed at rehabilitation and community reintegration.

Furthermore, the court imposed a five-year sexual harm prevention order, restricting Hounslow's activities and contact to prevent any potential harm or reoffending. This order is designed to protect the public, especially minors, from any future risk posed by the defendant.
