TEENAGER CHARGED WITH SEXUAL ASSAULT OF TWO GIRLS IN BLANTYRE
A teenager has been charged with sexual offences after two girls were reportedly attacked in South Lanarkshire at the weekend.Police Scotland arrested and charged an 18-year-old man, Regan McClinton, after being called to the Burnbrae Road area of Blantyre on Saturday night.
The force said they received reports of two girls being assaulted at around 7.20pm and 7.40pm.
McClinton faced three charges when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
As well as assault and sexual assault, he has also been accused of assault with intent to rape a child under the age of 13.
McClinton, of South Lanarkshire, made no plea and was released on bail.
His next court appearance is yet to be confirmed.

Charge 1 - Guilty by unanimous - Attempted rape to severe Injury charge 2 - Guilty by unanimous - sexual assault with intent to rape.
Regan was Remanded into custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
Update 30-10-2025 He grabbed the 15-year-old by the hair and body before dragging her into an alleyway where he took away her mobile phone.
McClinton, of Blantyre, subjected the child to a sexual and physical assault, which ended after members of the public intervened.
After fleeing the scene, and just minutes later, McClinton attacked an 11-year-old girl, who had been walking with a friend on the nearby Burnbrae Road.
He pulled the child into an alleyway where he physically assaulted and attempted to rape her, all to her severe injury.
A member of the public came to the girl’s aid after hearing screaming and recognised McClinton.
The vile brute was sentenced to eight years and nine months at the High Court in Kilmarnock.
This will involve a period of six years and nine months in custody with a two-year extended sentence.
His name has been added to the sex offenders register indefinitely and indefinite non-harassment orders were also granted.
