RAYMOND ROBERTSON FROM PITSEA FACES PRISON OVER CHILD ABUSE IMAGES FOUND ON HIS COMPUTER
In a serious case that has shocked the local community of Pitsea, Raymond Robertson, a 66-year-old man, is now facing potential imprisonment after authorities uncovered a disturbing collection of child abuse images on his personal computer. The investigation was initiated following reports that Robertson was in possession of extreme videos and photographs depicting illegal and highly disturbing content. On November 17 of the previous year, police officers executed a search warrant at Robertson’s residence in Littlebury Green, Pitsea. During the raid, law enforcement officials seized his Apple Mac computer and a laptop, which subsequently revealed a large cache of illicit material. The digital files included hundreds of pornographic photographs and videos, some of which depicted children aged between eight and 12 years old. These images were classified on the Copine Scale, with some rated at level five, indicating the most severe category of child abuse imagery.
In addition to the child exploitation material, authorities discovered extreme pornography involving animals, specifically a horse and a dog. Among the seized items were discs labeled 'PTHC,' a term that Robertson himself admitted during police interviews stood for 'pre-teen hardcore.' This revelation added to the gravity of the case, highlighting the disturbing nature of the content he possessed.
Raymond Robertson appeared before Basildon Magistrates Court, where he pleaded guilty to 16 sexual offences. Prosecutor Samantha Doyle outlined the details of the case, stating, “He said in interview he does not have a sexual interest in children, but in 1998 he faced a long custodial sentence for indecent assault and sexual intercourse with a child under 16.” These previous convictions involved a girl who was 14 at the time. The recent offences, committed between April 2009 and November 2012, included eight counts of creating indecent photographs and videos of children, five counts of possessing extreme pornographic images involving animals, two counts of possessing indecent images and videos of children, and possession of prohibited images of children.
Following his guilty plea, Robertson was released on unconditional bail. He is scheduled to appear at Basildon Crown Court later this month for sentencing. As part of the legal process, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register immediately. The case remains a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat child exploitation and the importance of community vigilance in reporting suspicious activity.
