LARRY PARMENTER FROM PITSEA CAUSES HAVOC IN ESSEX PHARMACIES WITH CHILD SEX ABUSE FANTASIES AND DISTURBING BEHAVIOR

In a disturbing series of events that unfolded over a span of three days, Larry Parmenter, a 36-year-old man from Pattiswick Square, Pitsea, subjected multiple pharmacies across south Essex to a wave of distressing calls and inappropriate conduct. The incidents, which took place between August 8 and 10 of the previous year, left staff members deeply shaken and concerned for the safety of a non-existent child, as Parmenter recounted vile and fictitious scenarios involving child abuse.

Parmenter’s troubling behavior began with a visit to a Boots pharmacy, where he claimed to be suffering from a rash. During the consultation, he unexpectedly began to touch himself sexually in front of the attending female staff member. The woman was visibly shocked and alarmed by his actions, immediately advising him to seek medical attention from a doctor. After he left the premises, she promptly contacted the police to report the incident, recognizing the seriousness of his conduct.

Following this, Parmenter launched a series of phone calls to various pharmacies in the region, including one in Shoeburyness. During these calls, he fabricated stories about his daughter, claiming she was suffering from a medical condition. However, the details he provided were grotesque and sexually explicit, with Parmenter describing himself engaging in sexual abuse of the non-existent child. The pharmacists on the receiving end of these calls were left profoundly disturbed, with many describing the experience as one of the most traumatic they had ever endured. They expressed genuine concern for the child's safety, despite knowing that the entire narrative was fabricated.

When authorities eventually apprehended Parmenter and brought him in for questioning, he claimed to have no recollection of the calls or his actions. He attributed his behavior to the influence of alcohol and cocaine, which he admitted to having consumed on the days in question. His mental state and substance use appeared to be factors in his erratic and disturbing conduct.

In addition to these incidents, Parmenter also admitted to breaching a non-molestation order issued against his former partner in May 2021. Despite being legally prohibited from contacting her, he continued to harass and call her, further demonstrating a pattern of troubling behavior. At his sentencing hearing at Basildon Crown Court, Prosecutor Douglas Page detailed the extent of Parmenter’s misconduct, emphasizing the profound impact on the pharmacy staff and the seriousness of his offenses. Parmenter faced charges including public order offenses and sending communications with the intent to cause alarm or distress, to which he pleaded guilty.
