RAYMOND MINNS VANGE CHILD ABUSE SCANDAL SHOCKS LOCAL COMMUNITY
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the town of Vange, Raymond Minns, a 29-year-old man, has been convicted of heinous crimes involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of young girls. The case came to light after police conducted a raid on Minns's residence in Vange last November, uncovering a disturbing collection of digital evidence on his computer.During the investigation, authorities seized Minns's computer and discovered more than 18,000 images depicting children being subjected to sexual abuse. These images included photographs and videos that Minns had taken himself, using both his mobile phone and a video camera, as he engaged in acts of sexual violence against two schoolgirls. The images were not only shared online but also stored for personal gratification, highlighting the extent of Minns's depravity.
When questioned by police, Minns admitted to grooming two of the girls whose images were found on his devices. He confessed to repeatedly sexually abusing and raping the victims, a revelation that has deeply disturbed the local community and law enforcement alike. His actions were described as calculated and predatory, with Minns openly acknowledging his role in the exploitation of the young girls.
At Basildon Crown Court, Judge Michael Brooke QC delivered a stern sentence, emphasizing the severity of Minns's crimes. The judge stated, "I hope very much you are given all the rehabilitation you so clearly need and three years from now you can think about applying to the parole board to be released on licence." The court also imposed strict restrictions on Minns's future conduct, including a lifelong ban from working with children, living with or being alone with anyone under 16, and attending any clubs or events where children under that age might be present. Additionally, Minns was barred from using the internet, a measure aimed at preventing further offenses.
Furthermore, Minns was ordered to remain on the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life, a legal requirement that ensures ongoing monitoring and public safety. His convictions include four counts of raping a child under 13, one count of attempted rape of a child under 13, eight counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, two counts of distributing such images, and sexual assault of a child under 13. He also admitted to one charge of assaulting a child under 13 by penetration and possessing indecent images of children, underscoring the gravity of his crimes and the extensive nature of his offending behavior.
