RAJESH MALHOTRA JAILED FOR SEX OFFENCES IN HOUNSLOW

In a case that has deeply shaken the community of Hounslow, Rajesh Malhotra, a 39-year-old man residing on Rose Heath Road, has been sentenced to prison following his conviction on serious sexual offence charges. The incident, which involved a young girl between the ages of nine and 11, has left a lasting scar on the victim and her family, highlighting the grave nature of the crimes committed.

Malhotra was brought before Isleworth Crown Court last month, where a jury found him guilty of three counts of indecent assault against the girl. Notably, he was acquitted of allegations involving her younger sister, which indicates that the prosecution's case was specific to the older victim. The court heard that the victim, who is now an adult, was subjected to repeated abuse over a period spanning from 1997 to 2000. Due to legal restrictions, her identity remains protected, but it is understood that her trauma has had a profound impact on her life.

Judge Richard McGregor-Johnson sentenced Malhotra to three years in prison and mandated that he register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. During the sentencing, the judge emphasized the severity of the offences, stating, "You repeatedly took advantage of her and sexually assaulted her. The sexual abuse of a young woman over a protracted period has to be taken seriously, not least because of the effects on the victim." The judge’s remarks underscore the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and the serious consequences of such violations.

Prosecutor Simon Wild provided the court with details of the abuse, explaining that it occurred frequently over three years. The victim, who was approximately 11 years old at the time, confided in her mother about the abuse. She did not see Malhotra for some time afterward but later realized the extent of the harm inflicted upon her. It was only when she reached 18 that she reported the abuse to the police in June of the previous year, bringing the case to court.

Throughout the proceedings, Malhotra maintained his innocence, denying all seven charges related to the two sisters. He claimed that the allegations did not happen and continues to assert his innocence. His legal counsel, Anthony Wilcken, acknowledged that Malhotra has come to terms with the verdict and noted that his wife is providing him with support during this difficult time. Despite his denial, the court’s verdict reflects the weight of evidence presented and the serious nature of the offences committed in Hounslow.
