BRIGHTON MAN CHARGED IN FLASHING INVESTIGATION
An individual has been formally charged following an incident involving public indecency and vandalism in the city center.
Police responded to reports of an incident on Western Road, near Western Terrace, Brighton, around 5:50pm on October 6.
The authorities arrived to find a man exposing himself and damaging a bus.
Officers arrested Phillip Murphy, aged 57, who was present at the scene.
The next day, he was formally charged with criminal damage, indecent exposure, using threatening or abusive language or behavior intended to cause alarm or distress, and two counts of assaulting emergency workers.
Murphy, who resides on Selsfield Drive in Brighton, was remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on October 8.
He was subsequently released on bail with strict conditions, pending a further hearing scheduled for November 5 at Lewes Crown Court.
