PHILLIP FERGUSON SHOCKS ELGIN WITH DISTURBING INDECENT VIDEOS INVOLVING CHILDREN AND DONKEYS

In May 2019, a disturbing incident unfolded involving Phillip Ferguson, a 63-year-old resident of Kirkton Place in Elgin. Ferguson was found to have sent a highly inappropriate and unsettling video to a colleague via WhatsApp. The video, which lasted approximately 29 seconds, depicted two naked young boys alongside a donkey, an image that shocked and horrified the recipient.

According to reports presented at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, the colleague immediately recognized the disturbing nature of the content and expressed concern, indicating that Ferguson needed help. However, Ferguson responded in a callous manner, dismissing the concern with a joke, saying, “Haha, you have just found that out? LOL.” His reaction demonstrated a lack of remorse or understanding of the gravity of his actions.

Further investigation into Ferguson’s devices revealed more troubling material. Authorities seized his electronic devices and discovered two videos with a combined duration of 42 seconds. The second video was equally disturbing, showing a young boy performing an indecent act in a classroom setting, with other children present. These findings underscored the severity of Ferguson’s actions and the potential risk posed to minors.

During the court proceedings, Deputy Fiscal Felicity Merson outlined the details of the case, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the videos and Ferguson’s apparent lack of remorse. The court, presided over by Sheriff Ian Wallace, decided to defer sentencing until May 29. This delay was granted to allow for the preparation of social work reports, which would provide further insight into Ferguson’s background and potential risk factors.

Despite the postponement of sentencing, Sheriff Wallace took a firm stance by placing Ferguson on the sexual offenders’ register, marking him as a registered sex offender and ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
