PHILIP HAWKES FROM WELLINGTON SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR CHILD SEXUAL OFFENCES IN BRISTOL

In a significant case that has drawn considerable attention, Philip Hawkes, a 55-year-old man originally from Wellington, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for a series of serious child sexual offences. The sentencing took place at Bristol Crown Court on Tuesday, July 2, following Hawkes' guilty plea during his initial court appearance.

Hawkes' criminal conduct involved disturbing online activities, where he engaged in grooming teenage girls through digital platforms. The charges against him include 32 separate offences related to the online solicitation and exploitation of minors.
