PETER MILL HAXBY YORK SEXUAL ASSAULT AND DRUG OFFENSES
In a disturbing series of events that unfolded in Haxby, York, Peter Mill, aged 28, was found guilty of heinous crimes involving a vulnerable 16-year-old girl. The incident began when police issued Mill an official warning after discovering him in bed with the girl, who was under a care order at the time, indicating her vulnerable status and the concern for her safety.Despite this warning, less than two weeks later, authorities were alerted again to Mill’s troubling behavior. Two of the girl’s friends stumbled upon a shocking scene: Mill was lying naked on top of the girl, who appeared to be attempting to engage in sexual activity with her. Further investigation revealed that Mill had stripped the girl completely and had taken photographs of her body while she was lying across his bed. These images, captured on his phone, were deemed a form of humiliating abuse, and the girl herself had no recollection of the events due to the influence of alcohol and drugs supplied by Mill.
Prosecutor Cathy Taylor detailed that police had raided Mill’s residence on December 14, uncovering two different types of illegal Class B drugs, electronic scales, and text messages on his phone indicating ongoing drug dealing activities. Following this raid, Mill was released on bail. However, on December 27, he allowed the girl and her friends into his home once again, where he provided them with cannabis, M-cat, and alcohol, further demonstrating his reckless disregard for the law and the safety of the young girl.
During the court proceedings, Mill admitted to sexually assaulting the girl and possessing drugs with intent to supply them to a small group of people. Judge Guy Kearl QC condemned Mill’s actions, stating, “It seems to me you had targeted her as a vulnerable victim.” The judge also emphasized that the photographs taken were intended to humiliate her, especially considering her lack of memory of the events due to intoxication.
In sentencing, Mill was sentenced to two years and seven months in prison. Additionally, he was placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and subjected to an indefinite sexual offences prevention order. This order prohibits him from being alone with any girl under the age of 16 without supervision and bans all contact with the girl he assaulted, as well as another girl involved in the case.
