PETER JONES FROM AYLESBURY VALE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN BRILL AND AYLESBURY

In a significant case that has drawn considerable attention within the Aylesbury Vale community, Peter Jones, a resident of Brill, has been sentenced to prison for heinous sex offences committed against young girls during the 1980s and 1990s.

The crimes, which spanned over a decade, involved disturbing acts of indecent assault against two female victims, with the offences taking place in various locations within the Aylesbury Vale area.

Jones, aged 72 and residing on Windmill Street, was convicted by a majority verdict at Aylesbury Crown Court on March 15.

The court found him guilty of three counts of indecent assault on girls aged between 10 and 14, as well as one count of indecent assault on a girl over the age of 16.

These allegations stem from incidents that occurred between 1983 and 1996, involving two separate female victims who came forward to report the abuse.

Following his conviction, Jones faced sentencing on Thursday, June 13, at the same court.

The judge handed down a total sentence of seven years’ imprisonment, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the impact on the victims.

The case was initiated after Jones was formally charged on September 10, 2018, following a lengthy investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.

Jones’s offences have left a lasting scar on the victims and have prompted renewed discussions about safeguarding and justice within the community of Aylesbury Vale.
