MAN, 32, IN CUSTODY AFTER SEXUAL COMMUNICATION WITH GIRL
A MAN from Malmesbury has pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Peter Cox, 32, of Newnton Grove, Malmesbury, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 20, where he admitted engaging in sexual communication over a social media platform with a 15-year-old girl.
He also admitted breaching his SHPO, which forbade him from engaging in conversation, via in person or electric means, any female child under the age of 16 without the consent of the child’s legal parent or guardian.
He has been remanded into custody ahead of his sentencing on January 9 at Swindon Crown Court.
Investigating officer PC Luke Lo Bianco of the Volume Crime Team said: “Cox made the conscious decision to sexually communicate with a child while fully aware of the terms of his SHPO and without consideration of the impact on the victim and family.
“The robust action of the court to remand him into custody will ensure he is not able to continue offending prior to his sentencing.”
