PETER BISHOP FROM CHARD SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

The judge emphasized that the victim felt ashamed, but clarified that she had nothing to be ashamed of.
Conversely, he stated that Bishop had every reason to feel shame for his actions.
The judge concluded by condemning Bishop's conduct, asserting that all he had lost—his reputation, freedom, and standing—was entirely the consequence of his own perverted choices and sexual interests directed towards a vulnerable young girl.
