POLICE OFFICER FACING SEXUAL MISCONDUCT HEARING OVER NIGHT OUT INCIDENTS
A Metropolitan Police constable, PC Christopher Bowdery, is to face a misconduct panel accused of groping colleagues and making lewd remarks during a night out in London.On 27 April 2023, while off duty, he allegedly harassed female colleagues in bars around Liverpool Street.
The accusations include pulling down a colleague's top and dropping an ice cube inside, fondling another officer's backside at a bar, slapping or grabbing the backsides of others at a second venue, and making inappropriate sexualised comments.
The force stated that his behavior was 'unwarranted, unwelcome and unprompted,' causing distress and damaging public confidence.
Bowdery is accused of breaching standards covering Authority, Respect and Courtesy, and Discreditable Conduct.
The misconduct hearing will determine whether his actions amount to gross misconduct.
