PAUL WALLIS FROM OVINGHAM REARRESTED FOR BREACHING SEXUAL HARM PREVENTION ORDER IN NEWCASTLE

A man named Paul Wallis, who previously served time for a sexual assault on a young boy, has been taken back into custody after breaching a court-imposed order designed to prevent him from having contact with children.

Wallis, a resident of Tyne Gardens in Ovingham, Northumberland, had been released from prison after serving half of a 30-month sentence related to his conviction for a sexual offence committed in Sheffield. The court proceedings revealed that Wallis was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which explicitly prohibited him from engaging with minors or having any form of contact with children.

Despite these legal restrictions, Wallis was found to have repeatedly visited a residence where a young child was often present. The family living there was unaware of Wallis’s criminal history and the restrictions placed upon him. Fortunately, during these visits, Wallis did not physically assault or harm the child in any way.

However, the situation caused significant distress to the child's mother, who expressed her feelings in an impact statement. She described herself as being
