MET POLICE SPECIAL CONSTABLE CHARGED WITH CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT
A serving Metropolitan Police special constable has been charged with sexually assaulting a child.Paul Uworibhor, aged 58, who is attached to the North Area Basic Command Unit, was formally charged by postal requisition on October 31 with sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 13, according to the Metropolitan Police.
He is scheduled to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 29.
Uworibhor was arrested in October 2021 and has been suspended from his duties since then.
The assault is reported to have occurred in 2010, prior to his employment with the Met Police.
The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed of the case, the police force confirmed.
