ROTHERHAM ROBBER JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER CANCER PATIENT’S DEATH
Paul Storm Blueitt, aged 36, committed a violent assault on Judith Ducker during a robbery at a newsagent in Rotherham on 1 September.
The attack was extremely severe, resulting in head injuries such as a fractured skull, damage to her eye socket, and brain bruising.
These injuries hindered her ability to continue treatment for her breast cancer, which had already metastasized to her brain.
As a result, Mrs Ducker was unable to pursue her essential cancer therapy and passed away in hospital approximately a month later due to the disease.
Blueitt was found guilty following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
He was initially charged with attempted murder, but after her death, the charge was changed to murder after discussions with the Crown Prosecution Service.
In addition to the murder charge, Blueitt was convicted of robbery and sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 27 years before eligible for parole.
