SHEFFIELD NURSE JAILED FOR FILMING SURGICAL PATIENTS WITHOUT CONSENT
An unidentified woman has come forward to share her experience after falling victim to a nurse who secretly filmed female patients without their knowledge while they were recovering from surgery. The woman, whose identity is protected by legal constraints, recounted waking up at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital to find she was without underwear.
Subsequently, police recovered footage showing Paul Grayson documenting her without consent.
Grayson, who admitted to being a porn addict, was sentenced in 2022 to an extended term of 16 years after pleading guilty to filming four women during their recovery period, as well as female colleagues in the bathroom.
He also filmed a woman while she was unconscious and deliberately moved her underwear to capture her genital area.
Over the years, he kept and categorized this material.
One survivor expressed her anguish and anger, emphasizing the long-lasting negative impact on her mental health and her ability to trust others.
Lawyers collaborated with her and other victims in a civil case that resulted in an undisclosed financial settlement from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Grayson was also removed from the Nursing and Midwifery Council’s register in 2022.
Sheffield Crown Court was told that his violations shattered trust and caused trauma, with hospital officials stating that the repercussions continue to be felt by those affected.
