PAUL DIXON JUNIOR SHARD END ATTACK: BRUTAL ASSAULT ON GIRLFRIEND LEADS TO COURT CASE

On September 19 of the previous year, Paul Dixon Junior was involved in a severe and violent assault against his girlfriend at an address located in Shard End. The incident unfolded after the victim confronted Dixon Junior about suspicions of infidelity and was found handling his mobile phone. In an attempt to escape the escalating situation, she retreated into the bathroom and locked the door behind her, seeking refuge from her partner. However, Dixon Junior responded with aggressive force, smashing a hole through the bathroom door to gain entry.

Once inside, he physically restrained her by grabbing her in a chokehold, which caused her to collapse onto the floor. During this assault, she was struck with her head hitting the bathroom wall, and he proceeded to punch her in the face. The victim later told the court that she was unable to breathe during the attack and eventually slipped to the ground. At that moment, Dixon Junior bit her on the back of the shoulder, adding to her injuries. In response, she bit his arm, which caused him to release his grip. The situation temporarily de-escalated but soon reignited as Dixon Junior argued and pleaded with her not to call the police.

Following the incident, the victim sought medical attention for a wound she believed was inflicted by a dog bite. Two days later, during another argument and as she attempted to leave, she contacted the police. Dixon Junior was subsequently arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm as well as perverting the course of justice. He was remanded in custody pending trial.

Further complicating the case, Dixon Junior’s father, Dixon Senior, became involved by sending voice notes that insulted the victim. He also forwarded her images of letters written by his son from prison, which appeared to be an attempt to manipulate her into withdrawing her support for the prosecution. The victim described ongoing mental and physical health issues resulting from the attack and expressed her hope that Dixon Junior would reflect on his actions and the harm caused.

During sentencing, Dixon Junior was given a two-year suspended sentence. The court also ordered him to complete 40 days of rehabilitation activities and perform 150 hours of unpaid work. Dixon Senior received a ten-day rehabilitation program and a two-month curfew, narrowly avoiding immediate imprisonment. The case highlights the serious nature of domestic violence incidents and the ongoing impact on victims in Shard End.
