PAUL DEMPSEY FROM CO WICKLOW FINED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY DOWNLOADS

In a case that has drawn significant attention, Paul Dempsey, a 47-year-old resident of Blessington in County Wicklow, was found guilty of possessing child pornography. The incident dates back to January 28th, 2001, when authorities uncovered that Dempsey had downloaded explicit images from naturist websites featuring young boys. These images depicted the boys posing nude and engaging in various sporting activities, raising serious concerns about the exploitation and abuse of minors.

During the proceedings at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, Dempsey admitted to the charges, which led to a conviction and subsequent sentencing. Judge Desmond Hogan presided over the case and imposed a fine of 500 euros on Dempsey. The judge gave him a three-month window to settle the fine, emphasizing that failure to do so would result in a one-month imprisonment sentence.
