PAUL BURRIDGE, NOW LIVING IN MELBOURNE WALK, NORTHAMPTON, JAILED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES

In October 2017, it was reported that Paul Burridge, who now resides on Melbourne Walk in Northampton, was sentenced to four years in prison for serious child sex offences.

Back in December 2002, Burridge, then 38 years old and living on Brook Street in Daventry, was convicted of eight counts of indecent assault on a young boy after a three-day trial. He was also found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Burridge’s legal troubles began in 2000 when the victim’s mother discovered indecent photographs of her son on his computer. Subsequently, police searched Burridge’s home and found images depicting the boy, some naked and others partially clothed.

He was charged with taking these photographs and was convicted of the offences at Daventry Magistrates Court. The sentencing took place at Northampton Crown Court, with prosecutor Pearl Willis stating that Burridge had persuaded the boy to testify in a way that would suggest the photographs had innocent origins.

Burridge claimed that it was the boy’s idea to model for an underwear catalog, but during his testimony, the boy testified that Burridge had discussed with him numerous times what he should say in court. The boy stated, “He said we should get our stories straight.”

Furthermore, he revealed that Burridge had indecently assaulted him multiple times between 1996, when he was 13, and 1999, highlighting the severity of his crimes.
