A violent incident involving Paul Boyack, 24, who appeared via videolink from Perth Prison, has resulted in his being sentenced to 25 months in prison.
He assaulted his former partner at two addresses in Dundee on August 23, 2020, by repeatedly punching her in the face, pursuing her, seizing her by her clothing, and raising his fist as if to strike her.
She sustained 'severe' injuries from the attack.
On the same day, Boyack arrived uninvited at her home, shouting and banging on her front door, demanding entry.
He then smashed a bottle in the garden and in the living room, threatening the woman with violence and to kill her.
In addition to the assault, Boyack admitted to having a blade without reasonable excuse and acting in an abusive manner towards police when they apprehended him.
The sheriff also issued him with a non-harassment order.
