PAUL BILLINGTON FROM GOLBORNE ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SEX WITH 14-YEAR-OLD SCHOOLGIRL

In a case that has drawn significant attention in the Golborne community, 21-year-old Paul Billington has been spared immediate imprisonment after admitting to engaging in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.

The incident, which took place in Golborne, was brought before Bolton Crown Court, where Billington pleaded guilty to the charges on August 9.

Following his admission, the court sentenced Billington to nine months in custody, but this sentence was suspended for a period of two years.

Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, a measure designed to monitor and restrict his activities to protect the public.

Details of Billington’s criminal history reveal a troubling pattern.

In 2016, he, then aged 20, was involved in an assault incident in Golborne that resulted in actual bodily harm to a female victim.

He was also convicted of two counts of assault by beating against the same woman.

His previous sentence included eight weeks of imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, considering the domestic setting of the assaults and the vulnerability of the victim.

As part of his earlier sentence, Billington was subjected to a 12-month supervision period, which included a rehabilitation requirement aimed at addressing behavioral issues.

A restraining order was also issued, prohibiting him from contacting the victim or entering Rydale Place, Abram.

Furthermore, he was ordered to pay £100 in compensation to the victim, an £80 surcharge to fund victim services, and £50 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

These legal actions highlight the ongoing concerns surrounding Billington’s conduct and the measures taken by the justice system to manage his behavior and protect potential victims in the Golborne area.
