PAUL ANDREWS FROM STRATFORD-ON-AVON SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AND ASSAULTS IN STRATFORD-ON-AVON AND ALCESTER

Paul Andrews, a 38-year-old man originally from Alcester, located within the Stratford-on-Avon district, has been handed down a substantial prison sentence following a series of serious criminal acts. The court found Andrews guilty of multiple charges, including coercive and controlling behavior, two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, sexual assault involving digital penetration of a woman, and the act of intentional strangulation.

In addition to these convictions, Andrews pleaded guilty to an extra count of assault causing actual bodily harm, further emphasizing the severity of his actions. The incidents that led to his conviction occurred over a span of several months, specifically in December 2023 and February 2024, highlighting a disturbing pattern of violence and abuse.

Among the violent acts, Andrews was responsible for kicking a woman in the head during an incident in early to late January, which resulted in her sustaining a black eye. He was also involved in two separate assaults in February, during which he caused a second black eye to the same woman, demonstrating a troubling escalation of violence.

The sentencing took place at Warwick Crown Court in October 2024. The judge sentenced Andrews to nine years in prison, with an additional three-year extension, bringing the total sentence to 12 years. Furthermore, Andrews was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228. As part of his ongoing legal obligations, he will be required to register with the police indefinitely under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, reflecting the gravity of his sexual misconduct and violent behavior.
