CANTLEY MAN BREACHES SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR CHILD IMAGES
A man found indecent images of children as young as seven has appeared in court for breaching a suspended sentence.Patrick Swinley, 26, admitted to failing to comply with the requirements of his non-custodial sentence after failing to attend appointments with probation officers to monitor him in the community.
Norwich Magistrates’ Court was told he had missed two appointments in September and October though he had since attended others.
Ordering him to pay fines and costs of £100, magistrates warned him: “Should you breach the order again there is every likelihood the suspended sentence will be activated and you will go to prison.” READ MORE: Cantley man admits indecent images of young children The 26-year-old, of School Lane in Cantley, was sentenced in February 2024 after he pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children.
Police discovered 26 images in category A, the most serious, and multiple category B and C images after cracking the code to access his phone.
Swinley had refused to give officers the security login details for the device seized when police swooped at his address in June 2021.
