CHILD RAPIST PATRICK LIKOSSO SENTENCED TO 29 YEARS IN CARDIFF
A man convicted of child sexual abuse has been sentenced to an extended term of 29 years for assaulting three young girls.Patrick Likosso was apprehended after a relative of one of the victims expressed concerns about his behavior and contacted law enforcement.
During the investigation, Likosso, who was residing in the Ely district of Cardiff at the time of his arrest in August, was found guilty on 11 counts involving rape and sexual assault.
Authorities identified two additional victims during their inquiries.
Throughout the police interview, Likosso remained uncooperative, replying 'no comment' to all questions asked.
Law enforcement officials praised the bravery shown by the victims and their families, saying their support was crucial in securing the conviction.
They also expressed hope that the extended sentence would provide some level of 'closure.' The court proceedings revealed that Likosso, who has no fixed address, admitted to the charges during his court appearance.
His sentence consists of 21 years imprisonment, with an additional eight years on extended licence.
He must serve at least two-thirds of his custodial term before being considered for parole; however, the parole board will determine his suitability for release.
Following the sentencing, South Wales Police detective constable Rhiannon Phillips acknowledged the victims' bravery, stating, 'The young victims and their families demonstrated remarkable strength and courage in coming forward and supporting the investigation.
Thanks to their resilience and the efforts of our child protection team, Likosso has been held accountable.
We sincerely hope this sentencing aids in providing some closure and helps the girls regain confidence to move forward.'
