PAREDEP ATTWAL SENTENCED IN STOKE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON GLEBE STREET

Pardeep Attwal, a 34-year-old man, has been sentenced to a prison term of two years and four months following his conviction for a disturbing sexual assault that took place in Stoke-on-Trent. The incident occurred on October 15 of the previous year along Glebe Street, a well-known area within the city. According to court records, Attwal approached his victim as they were walking home, initially offering assistance before unexpectedly turning aggressive. The assault involved inappropriate touching and kissing, actions that left the victim deeply distressed and frightened. It is important to note that the victim did not know Attwal prior to the attack, as he was a complete stranger. The case was heard at Stafford Crown Court, where the severity of the crime was thoroughly examined.

Staffordshire Police’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team, represented by Detective Inspector Zoe Kelsall, provided a statement emphasizing the circumstances surrounding the case. She explained that Attwal had been in Stoke on a work visit and had stayed overnight at a nearby hotel. The victim, who was alone at the time, encountered Attwal, who then committed the assault. Inspector Kelsall highlighted the profound impact the attack had on the victim, underscoring the importance of justice in such cases. In addition to the custodial sentence, the court mandated that Attwal be registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for a period of ten years.
