MAN GIVEN EXTENDED CUSTODIAL SENTENCE FOR RAPE
On 18 March, Omarie Adams, aged 34 from Second Avenue, Armley, was convicted of serious sexual offenses against a 13-year-old girl.
The charges included four counts of rape, one of assault by penetration, and one of sexual assault, all occurring on 11 September 2025.
The court sentenced him today to a 20-year extended imprisonment.
He was also ordered to register as a sex offender indefinitely and was given a restraining order.
Adams, a stranger to the victim, abducted her during the day from a public street and took her to multiple locations within Leeds, where he sexually assaulted her over a span of two hours.
He argued during the three-day trial that he had not noticed she was wearing her school jumper.
Police identified Adams after following inquiries into the phone number he gave to the girl after the attack.
The victim also described the suspect with remarkable accuracy and detail, which helped in his identification.
