OLIVER SAGE FROM KILMARNOCK FACES MULTIPLE ABUSE CHARGES IN AYRSHIRE AND GLASGOW
A 35-year-old man named Oliver Sage has appeared before Kilmarnock Sheriff Court to face serious allegations of abusive and controlling behavior directed towards three women across different locations in Ayrshire and Glasgow. During the court proceedings, Sage firmly denied all the charges brought against him, which paint a disturbing picture of ongoing harassment and violence. The Crown alleges that Sage engaged in a pattern of intimidating conduct that caused significant fear and distress to his former partner. These incidents are said to have occurred at two addresses in Irvine and at a pub in Glasgow, spanning from November 1, 2015, to November 30, 2017. The prosecution detailed how Sage repeatedly sent messages, questioned her whereabouts, demanded information, and monitored her movements through social media, demonstrating a persistent attempt to control her life. Furthermore, it is claimed that Sage's aggressive behavior extended to her friends, including physically seizing one of them, shouting at her, and demanding details about her social activities.
Among the most serious allegations are claims of physical violence. Sage is accused of sitting on top of his ex-partner, strangling her, and punching her while she was pregnant, actions that highlight the severity of the alleged abuse. The court documents also describe how he attempted to control her appearance by dictating her clothing and makeup choices, even ripping her clothes during confrontations.
In addition to the incidents in Irvine and Glasgow, Sage is also accused of similar abusive conduct towards a second woman or ex-partner in Kilmarnock. These events are said to have taken place between December 1, 2021, and November 26, 2023. The allegations include repeatedly accusing her of talking to other men, trying to control her actions, and continuing to message her after she blocked him on social media platforms.
Further charges relate to a third woman or ex-partner, with incidents reported at Govan police office, Hurlford, and Kilmarnock from April 1 to November 5, 2023. The prosecution claims Sage exhibited jealous and possessive behavior, made offensive remarks, and attempted to exert coercive control over her. He is accused of monitoring her communications, demanding responses, and engaging in abusive conduct that included offensive language and shaming her for her clothing and makeup choices.
Despite the serious nature of these allegations, Sage was granted bail during his court appearance. Conditions of his bail include a prohibition from entering certain streets in Irvine and Kilmarnock. He is scheduled to return to court later this year to face these charges, which paint a troubling picture of ongoing abusive behavior across multiple locations in Ayrshire and Glasgow.
