NICHOLAS MANSFIELD FROM ROMFORD CAUGHT TRYING TO MEET 14-YEAR-OLD BOY FOR SEX IN ESSEX

In April 2017, a disturbing case emerged involving Nicholas Mansfield, a man from Romford, Essex, who was caught attempting to engage in sexual activities with a minor.

Mansfield, aged 38 and residing at Tallis Court in Romford, was confronted by the vigilant group known as The Hunted One, a team of paedophile hunters dedicated to exposing online predators.

According to reports, Mansfield had been communicating with the group since August 2016, under the guise of a teenage boy.

During their interactions, he sent messages that revealed his intentions and interest in meeting the minor.

One of his messages read, “14.

Young for on here.

Lol.

What you looking for on here,” indicating his awareness of the child's age and his attempt to flirt or groom.

Subsequently, Mansfield proposed the idea of meeting up, asking, “Fancy meeting up sometime?” This suggestion was part of a series of attempts to arrange a physical meeting.

The paedophile hunters claimed that Mansfield tried to meet the fictitious 14-year-old on three separate occasions.

During these exchanges, he also sent sexually explicit images, further demonstrating his predatory intent.

In addition to his online communications, Mansfield allegedly promised to bring the minor cocaine and alcohol, substances often associated with grooming and exploitation.

His actions and messages painted a clear picture of grooming behavior, which led to his arrest and subsequent court proceedings.

At a hearing, Mansfield admitted to attempting to meet a child following grooming activities and did not reasonably believe that the individual he was communicating with was over 16 years old.

Judge Sheelagh Canavan, presiding over the case, adjourned sentencing until May 10.

During the hearing, she emphasized the seriousness of the offense, stating, “What you pleaded guilty to is a very serious offence.

I want to know what risk you pose to children.

I’m making no promises whatsoever about custody.” It was also reported that Mansfield had worked for Havering Council as a transporter for disabled children.

However, comments on the online platform suggest that he was dismissed from his position approximately two years prior to his arrest.

The Hunted One describes itself as a “secret organisation of dedicated parents, pro-actively seeking out & exposing online groomers, sexual predators and paedophiles,” highlighting their role in protecting children from online threats.

The case underscores the ongoing efforts of such groups to combat online grooming and the importance of vigilance in safeguarding minors.
