WARLINGHAM PAEDOPHILE NICHOLAS GEORGE SENTENCED FOR ONLINE GROOMING OF BOYS IN SURREY

In a disturbing case uncovered by Surrey Police, Nicholas George, a 37-year-old resident of Warlingham, has been convicted and sentenced for his involvement in a series of heinous online grooming offences targeting young boys. The investigation revealed that George engaged in a pattern of predatory behavior over a span of two years, from 2013 to 2015, during which he exploited the anonymity of the internet to lure and manipulate minors.

George was found guilty of 21 separate offences related to online grooming, which included inciting children to engage in sexual activities, possessing indecent images of minors, and distributing such images. The victims, all boys aged between 10 and 15 at the time of the offences, were targeted through various online platforms where George used manipulative tactics to persuade them to perform sexual acts or send explicit images.

The case came to light in March 2017 when Surrey Police uncovered George’s activities. His actions were described as those of a 'prolific paedophile' by authorities, highlighting the extent of his criminal behavior. The court proceedings revealed that George had been actively grooming boys, some as young as 10, persuading them to show their private parts and engage in indecent acts online.

In a separate but related incident in February 2017, George, from Cranmer Gardens in Warlingham, appeared before Guildford Crown Court to face additional charges. He admitted to inciting 17 young boys, some as young as 11, to pose indecently for him online. During the hearing, Judge Jonathan Black expressed concern about George’s potential danger to the public and deferred sentencing to allow for further assessment through a pre-sentence report.

George, who requested to be called Nick during court proceedings, also pleaded guilty to three other charges: two counts of possession of indecent images of children and one count of distributing a single indecent image. The court emphasized that none of the victims could be identified publicly due to a court order designed to protect their anonymity. The allegations involved multiple boys, with some charges relating to the same individual.

The judge noted that the case was serious enough to warrant an assessment of George’s dangerousness, which would influence the length of his sentence. The starting point for sentencing in such cases was set at five years, with a potential range from three to eight years. The court confirmed that the threshold for custody had been surpassed, indicating a likelihood of a significant custodial sentence.

While awaiting sentencing, George was granted bail, with the court ordering that he remain on the Sex Offenders’ Register. His next court appearance was scheduled for March 29, where pre-sentence reports would be considered to determine the final length of his imprisonment.
