NEVILLE CROUCH EXPOSES HIMSELF TO YOUNG GIRLS IN ST ANNES
In July 2016, a disturbing incident occurred involving Neville Crouch, a man from St Annes, who was accused of exposing himself to two young girls aged 4 and 7. The court heard that Crouch, aged 59, engaged in this inappropriate behavior by revealing himself to the children while dressed only in a long black coat. The incident was particularly alarming given the age of the victims and the nature of his actions.According to the prosecution, Crouch had developed a seemingly friendly relationship with the mother of the two girls, having done garden work for her at her residence. However, this seemingly benign connection took a sinister turn when Crouch was observed through a window by the young girls in July of that year. It was during this observation that he stripped off his clothing, donned his long black coat, and exposed himself to the children. The situation escalated when he even entered their front garden, further breaching boundaries and demonstrating a troubling pattern of behavior.
During his time in custody, Crouch reportedly admitted to having disturbing sexual feelings towards young females. He expressed fear about what he might do if he was not stopped, highlighting the seriousness of his mental state and the potential danger he posed. The case was brought before Blackpool Magistrates Court, where District Judge Jonathon Gosling expressed deep concern over the breach of trust and the gravity of the offense. He emphasized that the matter was very serious and that a Crown Court would determine the appropriate length of imprisonment, as the magistrates' court had limited sentencing powers.
As a result, Neville Crouch was remanded in custody and scheduled to appear at Preston Crown Court on August 24 for sentencing. The case continues to draw attention due to the disturbing nature of the allegations and the potential risk posed to the community in St Annes.
