NEILL SHOTTER FROM TONBRIDGE SENTENCED TO 27 YEARS FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE

In a case that has shocked the community of Tonbridge, Neill Shotter, a man residing on Bishops Oak Ride, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 27 years for a series of heinous crimes spanning over a decade. The offences, which include multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault, were committed against a woman over a period that began in the 1990s and continued into recent years.

According to court proceedings, Shotter, aged 52 at the time of sentencing, subjected his victim to repeated acts of sexual violence and abuse. One particularly disturbing incident involved him raping the woman while holding a knife to her stomach, a detail that underscored the severity and brutality of his actions. The case revealed a pattern of predatory behavior that persisted for more than ten years, causing significant trauma to the victim.

Throughout the trial, Shotter denied four counts of rape, four counts of indecent assault, and three counts of sexual assault.
