A Brierley Hill man aged 41, who carried out multiple severe sexual assaults on a schoolgirl, has received a 20-month prison sentence.
During his hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Neil Round pleaded guilty to six charges involving sexual contact with a minor and an additional charge of encouraging a child to partake in sexual acts, with these offences spanning from March 2006 to November 2007.
He was also mandated to report as a sex offender for ten years.
Judge John Warner commented to the defendant, “This was a pattern of repeated abuses, and it is not unexpected that the girl has been profoundly affected by your actions.

Round told police, “I know I shouldn’t have done it.
It was a bit of fun that got out of hand.” The court was informed that the girl had been experiencing nightmares and illness since the assaults, and she has since undergone a noticeable change in demeanor.
Harry Owen, representing Round, stated that his client had made a complete confession when questioned and took responsibility for his actions right from the start.
