FERNDOWN MAN SENTENCED AFTER POSSESSING INDECENT IMAGES AND ATTEMPTING TO COMMUNICATE SEXUALLY WITH A CHILD
A man named Neil Lawson, aged 59 and residing on Wendys Crescent in Ferndown, was involved in criminal offences relating to indecent images of children and sexual communication with a minor.
He admitted to two counts of making indecent photographs or pseudo-photographs of a child, and to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
The court proceedings reveal that between September 21, 2021, and May 7, 2022, Lawson possessed 30 category C indecent images of children, including one of the most serious category A.
Additionally, he was charged with attempting to engage sexually with a child from April 29, 2022, to May 7, 2022, in Ferndown.
Lawson appeared before Poole Magistrates' Court for sentencing on March 24, where he was handed a community order for two years, which includes completing 26 days of a programme, 20 days of rehabilitation activities, and 200 hours of unpaid work.
The court also ordered that he be registered on the sex offenders register for five years and subjected to a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
