NEIL DIXON SHAMES TEESSIDE IN THORNABY WITH SEXUAL OFFENSES AND OVERDOSE INCIDENT

Neil Dixon, a 38-year-old man from Thornaby, found himself at the center of a serious criminal case that has shocked the local community. Dixon was recently sentenced to prison after a disturbing series of events that culminated in his overdose following confrontations with the families of his victims.

Authorities had been investigating Dixon on allegations brought forward by two young girls, both under the age of 13. The investigation revealed that Dixon had engaged in inappropriate conduct with these minors on multiple occasions. Prior to his formal interview with police, Dixon had spent two days hospitalized, which was attributed to an overdose, possibly as a reaction to the mounting pressure and the confrontation with the victims' families.

During the court proceedings, prosecutor Richard Bennett outlined the details of the case, stating that Dixon attempted to justify his actions by claiming he touched the girls 'as a joke.' However, he also admitted to engaging in such conduct on several occasions, which further solidified the case against him. In sentencing, Judge Recorder Paul Watson QC sentenced Dixon to eight months in prison. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of five years. The court also imposed an indefinite Sexual Offences Prevention Order, which explicitly prohibits Dixon from having any contact with children under the age of 16. Dixon had previously pleaded guilty to three charges of sexual assault in June of the previous year, which played a significant role in the court’s decision.
