DUNDEE MAN JAILED FOR ASSAULT AND ANIMAL ABUSE DURING ALCOHOL RAMPAGE
A man named Neil Brown, aged 32, was convicted of violent misconduct and sentenced to jail for assaulting a woman and her dog during an alcohol-fueled rampage.
The court heard that Brown had contacted the woman before midnight on February 5, promising to visit her after a night out, and then went out again early in the morning.
Later, after waking her with injuries, he became aggressive, stating, 'It’s all your fault,' and in the process, he grabbed her by the neck and threw her dog across the room, causing injury to the animal.
The woman managed to escape and called the police.
Brown was arrested and later found guilty of seizing the woman, pursuing her, grabbing her neck, and causing injury to her dog.
He also behaved abusively during his arrest, spitting on a police van partition and kicking it.
The court sentenced him to 23 months in prison and issued a three-year non-harassment order to prevent further distress to the victim.
