TURKISH MAN, 45, SENTENCED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING GIRL UNDER 13 IN CORNWALL
A 45-year-old man named Neclp Uslu has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for serious sexual offenses against a girl under the age of 13. Uslu, a Turkish national residing in Fore Street, Pool, Cornwall, faced multiple charges including six counts of assault through touching, two counts of assault involving penetration, and one count of raping a girl under 13. Despite denying any involvement during police interviews, the jury convicted him on all charges after the victim came forward at school, which triggered an extensive investigation. At Truro Crown Court, Judge Simon Carr also ordered Uslu to serve an additional year on extended licence, and he is now required to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for life. Uslu's arrest followed his return from Turkey through Stansted Airport, where he was taken into custody and denied all allegations. Investigators highlighted the profound impact the abuse has had on the victim's education and personal life, with Detective Joanna De Seta emphasizing her hope that the victim can now find some closure. The court proceedings revealed Uslu’s pattern of targeting the victim over several occasions, and his refusal to admit guilt prolonged the legal process. The victim showed notable bravery in supporting the case by giving evidence in court and disclosing the abuse. The case underscores the importance of victim bravery and ongoing police efforts to pursue justice in such cases.
