DONCASTER MAN JAILED FOR STALKING WOMAN AND CAUSING SERIOUS HARM
A man known for violent behavior has received a prison sentence after harassing a woman he met online for nearly a decade.Nathanial Elsemore, 22, of Urban Road, Hexthorpe, Doncaster, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on November 7, where he was sentenced to prison for inflicting severe harm on his victim.
Elsemore had previous convictions, including a stalking offence from 2021.
In his latest case, he stalked the woman over nine months, from October 2022 to July 2023, by sending abusive messages and making threatening phone calls.
The court heard that Elsemore used several fake social media profiles to conduct his stalking, bombarding his victim with messages that referenced self-harm, suicide, and threats to kill her.
He also sent threatening messages to her friends to try to intimidate her further.
He was found guilty of stalking with a fear of violence and was sentenced to seven years behind bars.
A ten-year restraining order was also issued, preventing him from having any contact with the victim, either directly or through social media channels.
Leading the prosecution, Detective Constable Alexandra Owen stated: "Elsmore’s actions have caused significant emotional and psychological damage to the victim.
It is only just that he now faces a seven-year prison term for this malicious harassment.
I commend the victim for her strength during this ordeal and hope she can move forward knowing she is protected." She concluded, "This sentence should serve as a warning to those who seek to terrorize others.
We will continue to fight against all types of violence aimed at women and girls." Additionally, YorkshireLive encourages readers to join their WhatsApp community for further updates.
