CARL GRICE STUNG BY RED ROSE UK HUNTERS
Child sex offender Carl Grice has today been jailed after being caught in a Red Rose UK hunter operation targeting adults seeking sexual contact with children online.Grice, 30, of Travis Gardens, Doncaster, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court where he was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for a series of child sex offences.
The court heard how Grice believed he was communicating with a 13-year-old child & two 14-year-olds before attempting to escalate the contact into sexual activity.
Following sentencing, the judge imposed a number of restrictions designed to protect children from further harm.
Grice was ordered to: • Serve 2 years in prison • Sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years • Comply with a 5-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) • Be placed on the DBS Barred List The case began after evidence gathered by Red Rose UK was passed to police, resulting in Grice being arrested and later charged with multiple offences linked to child grooming and sexual communication.
He had previously appeared before Barnsley Magistrates’ Court where he was remanded into custody ahead of today’s sentencing hearing.
Today’s outcome means Grice will now begin his custodial sentence while remaining subject to long-term monitoring and safeguarding restrictions after release.
——————————————————————————————————- Reports received on 26 January prompted police to arrest Carl Grice, age 30, of Travis Gardens, Doncaster, due to suspected involvement in offences related to a minor.
He was taken into custody on that day and charged with several sexual offences.
The allegations against Grice include attempting to cause a 13-year-old to view a sexual image, trying to establish sexual communication with a child, attempting to plan or help facilitate a sexual offence against a child, and two counts of producing indecent photographs of a minor.
He is also accused of assaulting a police officer while on duty.
Grice appeared at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on 28 January, where he was remanded into custody.
His next hearing is scheduled for 25 February at Sheffield Crown Court.
