UK OFFENDER SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS FOR RAPING TEENAGER
A man described as having no fixed abode has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking and raping a 16-year-old girl.The offender, Nael Khaliq, aged 36 (born 21.07.1981), was found guilty following a week-long trial after the incident on 17 July 2017 at 22:30hrs on the Cambridge Estate in Kingston-Upon-Thames.
The court heard that Khaliq approached the victim, a vulnerable teenager passing through the area, struck up a conversation, then led her into a car park where he raped her before fleeing in a vehicle.
The police quickly responded, carrying out CCTV inquiries and identifying Khaliq's vehicle.
He was arrested the next day, charged that evening, and remanded in custody.
At the sentencing at Kingston Crown Court on 27 March, Khaliq was sentenced for the rape of a female aged 16 or over.
Khaliq was on license for theft offenses at the time of the incident.
