NADEEM MOHAMED FROM CHEETHAM HILL TARGETS SCHOOLGIRLS NEAR GREATER MANCHESTER SCHOOL

In a disturbing series of events that unfolded in early 2018, Nadeem Mohamed, a 38-year-old man from Cheetham Hill, engaged in highly inappropriate and criminal behavior near a school in Greater Manchester. Over the course of three consecutive days, Mohamed deliberately positioned himself in the vicinity of the school, with the clear intent of targeting young girls in uniform as they made their way home from school.

On February 5, 2018, a teenage girl who was leaving the school grounds around 3 pm observed Mohamed sitting in his Audi with the window rolled down. She noticed him performing a sex act on himself, an act that she found deeply disturbing. Concerned, she took a photograph of his vehicle and promptly reported the incident to her teachers. The school, which cannot be named for legal reasons, was alerted to the situation by the girl’s report, and authorities were subsequently involved.

The following day, another schoolgirl witnessed Mohamed engaging in similar lewd behavior. She described feeling a sense of disgust upon seeing his actions. The very next day, yet another girl observed Mohamed’s inappropriate conduct and, upon recognizing his behavior as unacceptable, called him a “paedo” before walking away from the scene. These repeated incidents caused significant distress among the victims, all of whom were under the age of 16.

Mohamed was arrested on February 8, 2018, in connection with these offenses. An analysis of his mobile phone revealed internet searches that prosecutors argued indicated a specific interest in underage girls, particularly those in their early teens or pre-teen years. The court heard that Mohamed’s actions appeared to be targeted, as he deliberately chose locations outside the school where young girls in uniform would pass by, seemingly wanting them to see him and his inappropriate acts.

Victims of Mohamed’s behavior reported lasting psychological effects. One girl mentioned experiencing flashbacks and now avoiding walking home, opting instead to take the bus. Another girl shared that her behavior in school has changed, becoming more aggressive as a result of the incident. Two additional victims expressed feelings of anxiety and distress following their encounters with Mohamed.

Mohamed, who admitted to five counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child during an earlier hearing, faced sentencing at Manchester Crown Court. The judge, Hilary Manley, sentenced him to two years in prison, though the term was suspended for two years. As part of his sentence, Mohamed is required to complete 55 days of rehabilitation activities, including participation in a specialized sex offenders program. Additionally, he was placed under a sexual harm prevention order for a period of ten years, aimed at preventing any future offenses.

Judge Manley emphasized the gravity of Mohamed’s actions, stating, “You targeted areas outside a school. And you targeted teenage school girls who were wearing school uniform. You clearly wanted them to see you. It is disgusting and unacceptable that they were targeted on their way home from the school, where they are going to themselves an education, and then subjected to the nauseating and repulsive sight of you doing what you were doing.” The case highlights the importance of vigilance and swift legal action in protecting vulnerable young individuals from predatory behavior.
