HOUNSLOW MAN GIVEN INDEFINITE HOSPITAL ORDER AFTER BRUTAL FAMILY MURDER
Mustafa Arezo, aged 32, has been committed to a secure hospital on an indefinite basis following the slaughter of his parents using a machete.
The victims, Akbar Arezo, 64, and Layla Arezo, 74, were discovered at their residence on Redfern Avenue, Hounslow, on July 12, 2019.
After the attack, Mustafa stated he believed his mother was 'possessed' and that he heard voices commanding him to 'cleanse his house.' Diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, Mustafa Arezo was convicted of manslaughter at the Old Bailey.
The presiding judge, Richard Marks, remarked: 'There is no doubt you were severely ill when you committed these heinous acts and were in a highly psychotic state.
Given your mental condition, I believe you pose a danger, and extreme caution must be exercised when contemplating your potential release back into the community.
Such an event is unlikely to happen for many years.'
