ADAM CLAPHAM'S SADISTIC MURDERERS WHO TORTURED HIM TO DEATH AND 'REVELLED' IN HIS PAIN AND HUMILIATION JAILED
A group of five involved in the death of Adam Clapham at a drug house in Rotherham was sentenced to a total of 155 years behind bars.The defendants included Muhammad Ashraf, 18.
The court heard how these individuals captured Adam after intimidating a second man, subjected both to violent assaults, sexual violence, and left them to die.
The second man managed to flee from the basement apartment at 41 Spring Street on September 18, and was found in a critical condition nearby.
Adam’s body was discovered the following day, wrapped in a sleeping bag at the same location.
After a trial at Sheffield Crown Court, all five were found guilty of murder.
Ashraf additionally faced convictions for causing grievous bodily harm with intent, false imprisonment, and rape.
The court proceedings detailed how the gang lured the second victim into the property and kept him detained while questioning him about Adam's location.
Once Adam was captured, both victims were subjected to sustained, brutal attacks.
The judge highlighted the sadistic brutality, noting Adam had over 200 wounds, illustrating the severity of the torture.
The attack also involved forcing sexual acts, which were recorded on phones, with offenders laughing and mocking during the process.
The court also recognized that the violence only stopped when the victims lost consciousness due to their injuries.
Efforts to conceal the crimes included threatening the second victim, forcing him to lie about Adam dying from an overdose.
Adam’s mother, Carol, read a statement to the court expressing her grief, describing Adam as a kind and gentle individual whom they deeply miss.
Ashraf was sentenced to 28 Years in prison.
During the sentencing, the courtroom erupted with cheers and shouts of approval from the public gallery.
