LEVENSHULME MAN JAILED FOR RELENTLESS SEXUAL ASSAULTS ON WOMEN
A 27-year-old man named Mohyeddin-Ahmed Ibrahim has been convicted of multiple grave sexual offenses, including assaulting and raping two women while they were either partially conscious or asleep.The first victim, referred to as 'Woman A', demonstrated courage by addressing Ibrahim directly in court, asserting, "You can't hurt me now." She shared how the experience has left a deep impact on her life over the last three years, expressing the difficulty of articulating her feelings.
She described feelings of fear, anxiety, and a sense of loss of control, and disclosed having suicidal thoughts, though she has since managed to rebuild her life.
The psychological effects are enduring, with her haunted by the incident daily.
The second victim, 'Woman B', conveyed via a statement read in court that she started drinking more heavily as a way to cope with her trauma.
Although her life has stabilized, she acknowledged that the emotional scars from the attack will stay with her permanently.
Ibrahim was found guilty on two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
During sentencing, Judge Andrew Long stated, "You were arrested and lied about your actions to the police before opting for no comment.
You have shown no remorse or understanding of what you did.
You abused their vulnerabilities for your personal sexual gratification." The defense team argued that Ibrahim maintains his innocence, despite evidence such as semen samples collected after the assaults.
It was also revealed that he arrived in the UK claiming asylum from Sudan and was granted indefinite leave to remain.
He was previously employed in the hospitality industry and had been a victim of a serious assault in 2021.
On October 12, he received a ten-year prison sentence, two-thirds of which he will serve.
Greater Manchester Police’s Detective Sergeant Sam Owen praised the victims’ bravery and reaffirmed the force’s ongoing efforts to combat violence against women and girls, urging any other victims to come forward and seek help.
