ROTHERHAM CHILD ABUSE: EIGHT JAILED FOR RAPE AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF THREE GIRLS

Eight men who sexually assaulted three teenage girls in Rotherham from 1999 to 2003 have been sentenced to prison.

The offenders are Sageer Hussain, Ishtiaq Khaliq, Waleed Ali, Masoued Malik, Asif Ali, Naeem Rafiq, Basharat Hussain, and Mohammed Whied.

They received their sentences at Sheffield Crown Court after being found guilty of 16 charges following a trial.

The presiding judge stated that the victims had been "targeted, sexualised and subjected to degrading and violent acts." Over the course of the month-long trial, one survivor revealed that she and her family had to relocate to Spain to escape the abuse.
