EX-FOOTBALL COACH MOHAMMED TAHIR JAILED FOR EXPOSING HIMSELF TO GIRLS
Mohammed Tahir, a former football coach and well-respected figure who once impressed Tony Blair with his fundraising efforts and was nominated for a Pride in Oldham Award, has been sentenced to 10 months in jail for exposing himself to young girls at a swimming baths in Cardiff.Tahir, a married father of two, was living at Adventurers Quay in Cardiff Bay when he climbed into a shower with a 15-year-old girl earlier this year.
Three days later, he returned to the same sports complex and exposed himself, committing a sex act in front of shocked teenagers, as reported in Cardiff Crown Court.
Tahir has a history of similar offences, including a conviction for indecent assault in 1988 and gross indecency in Manchester eight years ago.
He also previously appeared before magistrates for an offence similar to the current one, where he exposed himself in a ladies’ changing room in 2004.
Tahir has numerous convictions for fraud and theft as well.
The court, in its judgment, described Tahir as a sexual deviant with an addictive pattern of exposure to females and assessed him as a high risk to women.
He was ordered to register as a sex offender and was subject to a Sexual Offenders’ Prevention Order banning him from visiting play areas and changing rooms at leisure facilities.
