MOHAMMED NAZIM FROM LITTLE HORTON SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS FOR PERVERTED CRIMES IN BRADFORD
In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Little Horton, Bradford, Mohammed Nazim, aged 33, was sentenced to six years in prison after being found guilty of multiple heinous sexual offenses against a young girl. The court proceedings revealed the disturbing details of the abuse, which spanned over a three-year period, involving manipulation, coercion, and deception.During the trial at Bradford Crown Court, a particularly emotional moment was the presentation of a heartfelt statement from the victim, a 12-year-old girl who cannot be publicly identified due to legal restrictions. The court heard that the trauma inflicted by Nazim has left her with persistent nightmares and has severely impacted her mental health. She has resorted to self-harming as a way to cope with the emotional scars of her ordeal.
Mohammed Nazim, who resides on Hastings Avenue in Little Horton, was convicted of sexually assaulting the young girl multiple times and was also found guilty of an additional offense of assault by penetration. The court was told that Nazim had employed manipulative tactics to gain the girl’s compliance, including offering her sweets and chocolates as bribes. On one particularly sinister occasion, he set up a video camera, leading the girl to believe that she was being filmed during the abuse.
Judge Jonathan Rose addressed the court, condemning Nazim’s actions as a vile and persistent pattern of pedophilic abuse. He highlighted the manipulative nature of Nazim’s conduct, noting that the offender had threatened to release the video footage if the girl disclosed the abuse, thereby attempting to shame her and hinder her future prospects of marriage. However, the court was informed that no footage was ever recovered, and it remains uncertain whether Nazim ever actually recorded any of the abuse.
Prosecutor Ken Green read aloud an extract from the victim’s statement, which vividly illustrated the profound impact of the crimes. The girl expressed her difficulty in trusting others, her loss of confidence, and her ongoing struggles with self-harm. She also revealed her embarrassment and shame, which have prevented her from confiding in her family about what happened.
Throughout the proceedings, Nazim’s defense lawyer, Tahir Khan, acknowledged that his client had now admitted to the offenses. However, he expressed regret that Nazim lacked the courage to do so earlier, before the trial commenced. The judge, however, was critical of Nazim’s denial from the outset and noted that he had shown no remorse for his actions.
As part of his sentence, Nazim will serve half of his six-year term in prison. Upon release, he will be subject to a sexual offences prevention order that will restrict his contact with minors. Additionally, he has been banned indefinitely from working with children and will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, as mandated by the court.
Judge Rose concluded by emphasizing the severity of Nazim’s crimes and the lasting damage caused to the young victim, underscoring the importance of safeguarding children from such predatory behavior.
